CAPE TOWN NEWS – #UberPaws comes to Cape Town
On Wednesday, 15 June 2016, S A Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind (GDA) partnered with Uber and had Cape Town humming with excitement when they were able to request a visit from a puppy in training. The cost of a visit was R100 which was donated to GDA. Uber app users were able to request 15 minutes of puppy playtime.
Ten GDA Puppy Raisers with their puppies partnered with an Uber driver. The app went live from 10h30 until 13h30 and each one was frantic with request after request as they dashed all over Cape Town. They were warmly welcomed by everyone who was lucky enough to get a visit and the puppies enjoyed the many cuddles and kisses.
By 10h00, half an hour before going live, UberPaws was trending at the number one spot on Twitter and the activation was truly successful. We are very excited that we will be repeating this campaign with Uber.
A big thank you to everyone involved, Puppy Raisers, Uber drivers and Uber! Thank you to those who supported the initiative by requesting a visit from #UberPaws.
