Spoil your pup with this delicious, dog-friendly treat recipe that contains only three ingredients!
Recipe makes approximately 40 treats.
Ingredients
- 2 cups oats (any type) plus more if needed (see Step 3)
- 2 medium ripe bananas
- ½ cup peanut butter (no added salt, sugar or xylitol)
Method
- Preheat your oven to 150°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Add the oats to a food processor and grind to a fine powder (see recipe notes).
- Add the bananas and peanut butter and blend until a sticky dough forms.
- Remove from the food processor and roll out on a lightly oat-floured surface. Use a cookie cutter to cut out the treats.
- Transfer the treats to the prepared baking tray and bake for 25-30 minutes, until the treats are puffed up slightly and have changed to a darker brown. The treats will harden once cooled. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or keep in the fridge for up to two weeks. The treats can also be frozen.

Recipe notes
- If you do not have a food processor, you can use store-bought oat flour. Use one cup at a time until a sticky consistency is reached. The flour used will be less than the oats in the recipe, as oat flour is denser.
- Ensure that the peanut butter used contains only peanuts and no added oils, sugars or sugar alternatives like xylitol, as these are bad for dogs.
