MHA Garden Village
8 August 2018 was a very special day for puppies Iris, Ireland, Indi and Nando, as this was their first official outing
into the big wide world in their development to become future working dogs. This was also to commemorate International Assistance Dogs Week – 5-11 August,
Together with GDA ambassador Ashley Hayden and GDA staff Kelly Watts and Pieter van Niekerk, the foursome visited the MHA Garden Village in Bordeaux, Randburg, to put a smile onto the faces of our senior citizens. A GDA presentation was done including a word from Ashley who adores the association and its work, as well as a short obedience session to demonstrate that our four-footed friends are making progress in following commands. Their Puppy Raisers also had the opportunity to introduce them to the residents, and lots of hugs and kisses were handed out!
A huge thanks to Charmaine, the staff and residents of Garden Village for all the arrangements made specially for this outreach, and the highlight was of course the celebration cake prepared for this occasion. A big thank you also goes to Ashley for making herself available to come and meet our future working dogs.
