The Paw Pad: Just one of the essential items needed to create confident, sure-footed Assistance Dogs. Paw pads are used in early training to introduce puppies to various textures and surfaces in a controlled, safe environment. This exposure is crucial for desensitisation, teaching them to navigate the diverse terrains they will encounter in the real world, from slick shopping centre floors to uneven outdoor pavements.
Specialised Harnesses and Vests: These are not just leashes; they are communication tools. A properly fitted harness is essential for teaching a Guide Dog puppy the distinct movements required for leading a visually impaired partner, while an Assistance Dog vest signals their working status to the public.
