Competition Terms & Conditions

By entering any Shades Day online competition run by the South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Eligibility

Competitions are open to all residents of South Africa.
Competition will run from 16 September to 17 October 2026.
Employees and immediate family members of the Association or its affiliated partners are not eligible to enter the online competition.

Entry Requirements

To enter, participants must follow the specific instructions outlined in the competition post or on the website. Entries must be submitted before the stated closing date 17 October 2026.
Late entries will not be considered.

Winner Selection

Winners will be selected by the Association based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and adherence to the rules. The Associations decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection.

Prizes

Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. The Association reserves the right to substitute a prize with one of equal or greater value if necessary.

Notification of Winners

Winners will be notified via the contact method used to enter (e.g., email, social media).
If a winner cannot be reached within 7 days, the Association reserves the right to select a new winner.

Use of Entries

By entering, participants grant the Association permission to use their submitted content (photos, videos, etc.) for marketing and promotional purposes related to the campaign, without additional compensation.

General

The Association will not be held responsible for entries not received, technical failures, or any loss or damage arising from participation in the competition. The Association reserves the right to amend these terms or cancel the competition at any time without prior notice.

Data Protection

Personal information collected during the competition will be used solely for administering the competition and will be handled in accordance with POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act).
